Washington has wanted but not been able to have a conformation based Beagle Club. Many attempts have been made over the years and so we were told we couldn’t do it. So, with hard work and working around the AKC parameters/rules, we received our AKC club status in Dec of 2024. We called it the Inland Northwest Beagle Club based in the Spokane area, but open to all.

We had this crazy idea to host our first Beagle Specialty at the Memorial weekend cluster and somehow we managed to pull it off.

We got a great entry with majors in both varieties, and people came from as far away as Hawaii, Pennsylvania and California as well as Oregon, Washington and Idaho. We couldn’t believe it.

It was great to spend time with friends, put my hands on dogs and sit back and enjoy days and days of beagles.

Cali (GCHB Kazuri’s Everything’s Sugar N Spice DCAT) and Savannah GCHB CH Kazuri’s Gonna Be Peachy FDC DCAT) completed their CGC titles on a whim.

Callie also got Select B at the INBC under judge Dana Cline and BOS/BOVOH under judge Robert E Hutton the following day – She went onto a OH Group 3 under Mr Eric Leibes. She was only entered and shown on those 2 days.

Savanah got Select Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 14 more points to her silver GCH

I’ll do a separate post about all the other wonderful wins from this weekend or else it’ll be very very long.

Unfortunately my sweet Nick got an injury on the first day and so was pulled from competition from the first day on. But he showed up and enjoyed his naps on the top of the trolley as he “cheered” everyone on.
