Remember how I told you they were sleepy little lumps? Yup – still that 🙂 hahaha. In all honesty, they do get up on their feet and walk around like little drunk soldiers, and are starting to growl and chew on each other – but they are pretty calm and lazy if given no incentive to get up.
We have tried mushy food this week – they think it is interesting but so far just a few licks and tastes – I think next week Paige will come out more and more and force them to start enjoying their meals more.
Enjoy the photos of these precious little lump cavaliers 🙂

My parent’s and brother are visiting from NZ for a few weeks. I have been enjoying time with them all of course. One of the things my brother and I like to do is go for walks and talks. Tonight, we went a new route and found a little patch of wild daisys. I told him – lets run home and get the cavaliers and take their photos for this week there! SO thats what we did.
The puppies didn’t really want to be on my little stool – we were in a new environment with loads of smells and great things to look at, but I can’t help but think they turned out great regardless.
I am just going to post the full gallery – I wonder if you can tell which cavalier puppy is which yet 🙂
Hint: Salsa has a little cheek crescent, Tamale has half a brown face and half white, Nacho has a little healing cut on his leg, and Pico is of course a Tri. 🙂 That leaves you with Churro who looks like a dainty bean, and Taco who has the most white on him 🙂

It is time for us to do my favorite chair photos – who doesnt love an adorable cavalier puppy on a bright blue chair? I know I do.
They are 7 weeks old – we did their Volhard temperament testing (click the link to learn more about what this is). I will write a basic update on each puppy with their photos. Please note that there is no “right” or “wrong” for their temperament test – each puppy has a baseline that is unique and can give us some insight on how to best place them and also what areas we can focus on in our training.
Enjoy their 7 week old photos on the blue chair.
Salsa – she was friendly with strangers and quick to forgive. will make a super companion for a family or busy home i think
Churro – more gentle and a watcher rather than a bold “do-er” – she was not a fan of the loud noise and went and hid – i think a more quiet family will be good for her. She will need to have lots of socialization
Pico – she was friendly but not needing approval or attention from our tester. The loud noise scared her but she recovered quickly. I think she could go to a busy or more quiet home – either are places she can thrive
Nacho – very gentle boy who didn’t like the loud noise or the moving towel. He recovered slower than I would like but when picked up and soothed he was fine. He is a total lap dog and would do great in a situation where he can be with his person/people a lot of the day
Tamale –
Taco – eager to follow and meet people. Loud noise made him scared but he recovered quickly. Didn’t like the paw squeeze at all. I have my eye on him as a potential show prospect.

Paige is such a great mom – the puppies are fat and healthy and almost a little lazy. With their ears and eyes open, they should be wanting to explore more and play wrestle. Her babies are always sleeping 🙂 haha. Full round tummies and happy hearts
Enjoy these photos – I feel a bit bad that they are pretty similar to last week – except they are bigger 🙂 haha. I wont complain about happy healthy content cavalier puppies
Enjoy their 3 week old photos

Now that she has nursing down pat, Miss Paige’s babies are thriving. Their tummies are always full and round, just how we like them.
Their eyes and ears have opened up and so we have started playing movies with unexpected noises in the background of their whelping pen – like Teminator or King Kong or even Saving Private Ryan. These sounds in a safe and secure environment with mama, allow the puppies to start understanding that loud or unexpected noises aren’t always need for being scared.

Tori’s puppies are finally eating 3 good meals a day – I find that as they gain confidence in eating on their own, they also grow confidence in life. When they play outdoors now, they are excited to get out and about and explore.
We are starting to see little hints of personality come forth which is really fun too. Salsa and Tamale are the boldest and first to explore while Nacho is always scrambling to be on my knee. Miss Pico is a little more independent and Churro and Taco like to hang back and watch. We shall see more information as they have their Volhard temperament test next week.
Enjoy the photos from this week – they wanted to explore these rocks so badly, and not just sit on them for photos. I am starting to wonder if my days of taking photos of them by themselves are coming to an end.
Enjoy the 6 week photos of Tori and Charlie’s little love nuggets.

What a wonderful weekend full of fun – I am so proud of the dogs I bred or co-bred and own or co-own. <3 I loved seeing all my other friends and say congratulations to the winners like Pia with Luna and Carrie with Poppe, and Brian with Armani on their wonderful wins
I couldnt be more proud of this boy if i tried – he showed his heart out and won both beagle specialty shows this weekend amongst some lovely and deserving competition.
This makes it his 3rd and 4th beagle specialty in 2026.
Thank you to the judges Mr Joseph Buchanan & Mrs Jocelyn Gagne for awarding Nick this weekend.
A special shout out to Nick’s niece Potato, shown by co-owner Kayla Bonnin who won 13s in both specialty shows and went BOSS to Nick at both also. I am so proud of both of these dogs, bred and co-owned by myself, and both owner handled.
I will do a separate post about all the other dogs that did amazing things this weekend also <3
Paige took to being a mommy so well – her poor inverted nipples made latching hard work, but once we got them on, they nursed vigorously. They are now 1 week old and approaching doubling their birth weight so that makes me very happy.
The two girls are so much bigger than the boy, but he holds his own so we are not concerned about him much.
Since Murphy’s AKC name is “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” we decided to name them after Irish landmarks/places.
Tori is doing a wonderful job allowing the babies to grow up. When we take her outside with them for 10-15 mins at a time, she shows them how to play and gives them confidence. She is dancing away more and more as they try to nurse, and so I am glad the puppies are starting to eat better on their own now.
The weather continues to be beautiful in the PNW, allowing good time for playing outdoors each day.
Enjoy the photos of Tori’s cavalier king charles puppies as they are now 5 weeks old.
