Madison X Buddy’s pups turn 1 week old

The first week milestone is always a good one for me – it signals that I dont have to get up every 2 hours in the night any more (just once mid way through) to check on them, and usually by now they have gained their birthweight back. Well, these guys are little piggies and a couple have made it to double their birthweight already and the others aren’t far behind. To say Maddy is doing a wonderful job with her pups is an understatement.

This week we should see little peepers – I love seeing their little eyes and watching them get up on their feet for the first time. Although honestly, this is the most content bunch I have ever raised so maybe they will just want to keep sleeping a little longer ๐Ÿ˜› HA!

I decided since Buddy’s name is “The Cake Boss”, that I would go with a litter theme of some of my favorite chefs from around the world.

Here you go – this week’s pictures. <3

Thank you for your interest in my breeding program. I wont be making offers to any families till closer to 6-7 weeks when I can assess their structure and temperament, and decide which will be staying in my breeding program.

Please note for any new enquiries, that I have approximately a 12 month wait time for puppies at this time.

Newborn Beagle Puppies

I always like to take pictures of my pups when they are 1 day old (and then every week if i can to document their growth). With Maddy and Vixen both out taking a dinner and potty break, I stole the opportunity to take quick photos of them in the whelping box – nothing fancy – just threw a white blanket over a dog bed and snapped some pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚

Vixen’s pups are just a few hours old which is why they look a little skinny/dehydrated – I promise that Vixen is taking wonderful care of them and they have been nursing on and off since she got home from the vet. I expect her milk to come in quickly. Please also dont be concerned about the red on two of Vixen’s boy’s head’s – we marked the two that were most fluid filled after birth so we could keep an extra eye on them – so it’s nail polish, not blood you are seeing.

Enjoy these pictures of the babies. I am still coming up with the litter themes so they will get their blog names at 1 week i think. ๐Ÿ™‚

Vixen and BJ welcome their beagle pups

The last time Vixen had puppies, she had some trouble during labor and delivery. With such precious cargo on board I didnt want to take any risks.

I was so happy I did. Dr Cindy said her uterus showed no signs of going into labor, and yet because we were on day 64, her placentas were all complete and starting to look “old” (whatever that means???) and as you will see her puppies were huge. So, why she didnt start labor on her own, I will never know, but I am thankful to God that we made the call to take them today. It was perfect timing.

Momma and babies are all perfectly well and Vixen has taken to her new babies wonderfully despite being a little groggy and sore after surgery. I am so grateful.

Meet her 5 beautiful BJ babies.

Madison x Buddy’s puppies arrive

After much consultation with my reproductive vet, Dr Cynthia Smith (from the Pet Doctor), we decided that if Madison hadn’t given birth by the 27th, we would take them via planned c-section as Vixen was due in the days after and she must have a c-section due to several getting stuck last time. I didnt want Madison to be whelping at the same time Vixen was needed in surgery.

The surgery went without a hitch and though Maddy is a little confused and sore, she loves her babies and is doing really well taking care of them.

So, without further ado, introducing the six newest Kazuri babies.

Emmy’s pups are 7 weeks

This is the first time attempting stacks with Emmy and Ben’s pups. Stacking is how we start to look their their structure – the angle of their shoulders, the length of their upper arm, the angle of their rear, their topline. The stack doesn’t tell us everything as some pups get nervous up here, but it’s a nice place to start.

I am SO pleased at how these pups have turned out. Using semen that was 22 years old was a gamble, and to get such beautiful pups to choose from, feels like a gift. <3

Thank you for your interest in my puppies and breeding program. At this stage I donโ€™t know if any of these puppies will be available as I will start assessing them around week 7/8 to see who will stay in my breeding program, and I have a wait list already. I thank you for your patience and understanding. I do understand how hard it is to wait.

Kiss and Denny’s cavalier pups are 5 weeks old

Time is flying by so fast – I cant believe I am half way to some of these guys going home. Oh my gosh – I cant even think about it.

They are all super eaters now. When the bowls go down, they chow down. They were introduced to the big pack this week and Phoenix (my 1 year old ruby cavalier) was especially excited. If you want to see a video of her playing with one, i put it on Instagram @kazuri_beaglesandcavaliers She sits by their pen and tries t play through the bars and begs me to lets them out several times a day.

The pups are getting so good at walking around and playing that we decided to take them for their first outing outside into the yard. They were a little shy at first (as you will see in the pictures), but once they had figured out that they were safe, they started exploring a little and chewing on leaves and such. It is still a little cold out, and so we didn’t stay for long. We will take them out for small times again each day. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are the latest pictures of the babies – they are getting bigger. <3

Emmy’s beagle pups play outdoors

Emmy’s pups are now 6 weeks old – I cant believe it. They are enjoying the outdoors more and more now. Karen sent me these pictures so I just had to share them <3

** Just a reminder that these puppies are being raised with my co-breeders Mike and Karen in Sacramento California, so you cant visit them in Seattle unfortunately. I will be bringing them up at some point in April.

Emmy’s beagle pups enjoy the outdoors for the first time

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, so Mike and Karen decided to let the puppies have their first experience outdoors. The funny story is that they were way more interested in their momma Emmy than they were in the interesting sights and sounds and scents around.

Emmy is such a sweet, loving, kind mom. She takes it all in her stride – 7 puppies could be overwhelming, but not for her. What a rockstar momma.

We welcome Emmy’s Beagle Puppies

My co-breeder’s ( who live in Sacramento) and I are proud to announce that Emmy’s litter arrived safe and sound. This litter is particularly special as it was conceived with 22 year old frozen semen from a dog that passed away many years ago – Ben – BIS BISS Kahootz Chase Manhattan. I am amazed at how technology can help us preserve DNA these days. Ben is a very well known dog in the beagle world and I am proud to be able to bring this old pedigree back into my pedigree and all that Ben has to offer.

Baby 1 was a Girl – 7.4 oz
Baby 2 was another girl – 8.1oz
Baby #3 was a little boy – 7.7oz
Baby #4 was another boy – 8.2oz
Baby #5 was another girl – 8.8oz
Baby #6 was another boy – 10.3oz
We got a surprise 7th baby – a huge girl weighing an even 11oz

We had thought she was just having 6, so she surprised us with a bonus #7 ๐Ÿ™‚ 4 girls and 3 boys ๐Ÿ™‚ Nice job Ben and Emmy <3 Mom and babies are all doing well. Emmy is a wonderful mother and the report is that the puppies are all vigorous and strong. I am so thankful.

At this stage I have no idea if any of these puppies will be available – we are going to take our time with this litter since the bloodline is one we have waited so long for. Thank you for understanding.

Maddy’s pups are 8 weeks & Vixen’s pups are 11 weeks

The puppies are growing about as quickly as the temperatures are dropping – fall in the PNW is certainly here. The puppies dont seem to notice though as they play in the yard and enjoy being outside each day.

My poor plants are squashed and flattened by all the games of catch and tag that happen over them, but I cant even be mad with how cute they all are.

I cant help but think this is the final time Maddy’s 5 will be together before Bepper (now Ella), Api (now Bradley) and Gelly (now Poppy) will be going to their new homes.

The homes that Cottonz and Wistor had lined up, have fallen through.

However, I am looking for guardian homes for them. This means that the couple or family will co-own with me and allow me to show the dog to CH title (at my expense) and one day she will have a litter of puppies before being spayed. They are not available as just pets. If you think you are interested in meeting me and talking about this kind of partnership/relationship, please feel free to email me.
