These litters were born 4 days apart and developing together. While we don’t keep them together full time, we do allow them to have small play times together. Their pens are side by side and I find them trying to play with each other. It’s very cute.
So, enjoy the photos of them from this week in the garden. I dont think i will be able to contain them much longer for individual photos 🙂

And here are the photos of the 5 week old beagle puppies – Mishka x Sir Louie
These precious cavaliers are starting to gain outside confidence as we slowly introduce them to the world outside. They were a little unsure at first but quickly started to explore around.
They are such sweet snuggly little ones. I cant wait for their personalities to start to emerge
By 6-7 weeks, the beagle puppies are big enough to be introduced to the big yard and pack of adults – supervised of course. The older dogs love playing with them and the puppies adore the dogs.
I am so thankful for the beagles, cavaliers and our golden Shirley for teaching the pups about boundaries and play. They sleep really well after these play sessions.
Mishka’s babies are thriving – they all have their eyes open and are starting to explore around the whelping pen. It’s fun to watch them move around and get strong on their little feet. I can’t wait for their little personalities to start shining through.
Nellie is doing a wonderful job as mom to her cavalier king charles puppies. They are all double their birth weight plus extra and I love to see them thriving so much. It is encouraging for sure.
Their eyes are starting to peep open and so I am sure they will be able to fully see in the next few days.
I love them so so much and can’t wait for their little personalities to start to come to life
I couldn’t be prouder – this weekend, my co-breeder/co-owner and good friend Chelsea, along with stud dog owner Terri took two dogs that Chelsea and I bred together into a “breeders showcase”. This is where as a breeder, you can show off your breeding program. It just so happened that the two dogs entered were littermates from our Spencer x Puddin litter.

The judge was breeder judge Mrs Heather Lindberg and she gave our kids a Hound Group 2!! WOW!! Talk about such an honor amongst some top Hound breeders in the country.
We are so so thrilled for this honor. Thank you to Terri and Dan for Spencer’s semen, Helen & Leigh for Pud and to Chelsea for being such a supportive and fantastic breeding partner. I am beyond proud!!
Mishka’s babies are thriving and we got to bring them home. They are chubby and content and so wonderful. I am so glad this litter has been so easy. I took updated pictures – there are some cute pups in this bunch thats for sure.
I am so so happy to say that this time, Nellie’s babies are thriving. We have had no sign of diarrhea and they are steadily gaining weight. Nellie keeps them spotlessly clean and I am so happy to have such a cruisy cavalier litter. Fingers crossed it continues
We decided to base the litter theme on the little guy with the “pants” on his legs – they remind me of Mickey Mouse’s pants with the little buttons. So, without further ado, here are the babies
First thing you should know is that dogs hardly ever read the “rule book” about what a “normal” birth is going to be like 🙂 LOL. Cavaliers typically give birth on days 58-60 where another breed might go to day 63.
Nellie decided to wait till day 62 to give birth this time. Last time was day 56. We had been watching her like a hawk and I stayed up several nights with her. On the morning of Aug 14th, she started to really show signs and the first pup was born around 9:30am. Of course, since she was on day 62, I had an appointment to see my vet to assess how things were and a possible c-section at 11:30 – i quickly realized that we wouldnt make it.
The first baby got a little stuck but it didnt take us long to get him warmed up and breathing well. A 7.7oz tri baby boy. My mom is visiting from NZ and so helped give him cuddles and oxygen while I attended to Nellie.
The second pup came soon after, about 9:45am. A tri girl – 6.35oz
An hour later, we saw Nellie straining again. The 3rd puppy came head first (good) but the shoulders got stuck and so nellie was having trouble getting the body out. We gently helped with every contraction and a big blenheim girl 8.4oz was born. She gasped a lot and again my mom was put onto warming/rubbing and oxygen duty.
Another hour later, we took Nellie outside for a potty break walk and she instantly started pushing again. This one was a decent size again, and feet first (normal but harder for mom) and so my husband and I tried hard to coax it out. He was born while and lifeless and so we went to work on rubbing him, oxygen and warmth. His first breath I cried. Another boy – 8.2oz
Unfortunately while we were tending to our last little guy, the blen girl started to really crash. We had her on oxygen and warmth but her breathing become labored and slow and then stopped. We checked her over and she had blood in her stool and so I believe she suffered some internal damage from being so large. It was so heartbreaking to lose such a gorgeous girl.
The three remaining pups are doing great and we are thrilled about that.
Echo’s babies are 4 weeks and toddling around like little champs. Today we took them outside and they explored the puppy area. They did very well and I know they will just keep getting more and more confident outside in the coming weeks. Enjoy the photos of them from this morning.
