Ivy’s beagle pups are 1 week old

Ivy is a wonderful mother. The babies are well fed and always sparkly clean. She loves to come out for snuggles and belly rubs and then is quick to go for a potty break and back to her mothering duties.

A good dam is worth her weight in gold and Ivy is worth every ounce. <3

We wont know who the sire of this litter is until DNA comes back in 6-7 weeks – stay tuned 🙂 Is it Nick or Maxim?

I took some pretty pictures of them – I am going to call them the President’s Week Litter since they were born the same week as President’s Day.

Without further Ado – introducing

Lincoln (Boy 1 – with the lighter color)

Grant (Boy 2 – with the white spot on his butt)

Girl 1: Monroe (Biggest girl with a backwards L on her neck)

Girl 2: Jackie (after Jackie Kennedy – girl with an upside down “T” on her neck”)

Girl 3: Betsy (after Besty Ross – girl with an “I” on her neck”)

The Kindness Of Strangers…

The kindness of strangers.

This weekend Malia and I drove to Portland to show our beagles there.

My Cadillac, affectionately known as Ken, decided that it didn’t want to start one morning – it was 5:30am and all was dark except one truck that had its lights on.

I sheepishly approached the driver and asked if they had a jumper cable. He called his work mates over and they all pointed their “griffin fluid management”trucks at my Ken to give us light, and after trying to jumpstart it for an hour in the freezing cold, one guy Mac told us he would be happy to drive us from the hotel to the show site so we could get our 8am ring time. We made it. (That post coming next)

While he didn’t have to do it – Mac kindly offered, taking Malia and I 10 miles in the opposite direction of his job site that day. He even came by the next day to check on us.

Later that day, I needed to meet AAA back at the hotel, and David Bert kindly lent me his truck so I didn’t have to catch an uber.

The world is crazy right now, but there are good people everywhere, doing little acts of kindness to fellow humans.

My weekend was overwhelming – 3 AAA call outs to start what I thought was a dead battery, which meant i neever knew if we were going to make it to the showsite on time and I arrived feeling scrambled and disheveled. For those ringside who didn’t know I am sure I just looked like a crazy woman

On Sunday, it culminated in me leaving the engine running in the car park while I ran in and showed my dogs (praying my car wouldn’t be stolen), and then packed it, and drove it home to Seattle, as I was advised not to switch the engine off as the starter was going and it was only a matter of time before it didn’t start again….its now safely at the mechanic where they will hopefully change the starter this week 🙏

Thank you also to unsung heroes Dolly and John Stearns and Malia Throop for helping through the chaos, meals and helping with my dogs. Thank you to Kayla Bonnin for coming to the hotel and picking up my baby puppy Cardi B so she could show in baby puppy. And for the hugs when the overwhelm was just too much and my tears wouldn’t stop flowing.

I won’t forget this weekend for a while.

Callie and Nick’s beagle puppies are 3 weeks old

Time marches on and the babies are here for it all. They are starting to walk around much more and get strength in their legs. They started on puppy mush a few days ago and LOVE eating (no surprise there – haha). They love sleeping on their “big soft” bed and it’s time to start potty box training now that they dont want to potty where they sleep (understandable).

I love these little babies so much – what a joy to see parts and pieces of Callie and Nick in them already.

Girl 1 (Saffron)

Girl 2 (Anise)

Boy 1 (Ghost)

Boy 2 (Jalapeno)

Boy 3 (Cayenne)

Callie and Nick’s beagle puppies have eyes open

We have peepers – it’s always so fun when their eyes open and we know they can start to hear things also.

The noise socialization has begun with playing movies like “Transformer” and “Saving Private Ryan” and “King Kong” for the loud and interesting sounds that play for them.

I love these little puppies. I am so excited to watch them grow up – they have big shoes to fill <3

Final beagle puppy pictures for Freddy and Jason

8 weeks is here – I can hardly believe it. These two have been fun and I have enjoyed every moment of raising them. They were lucky enough to have my family here from NZ and so got weeks of toddler and preschooler time with my nephews and neice.

They are going off to their new homes this weekend – Freddy is now Grahame Nash and Jason is now Lucky. Both have incredible families to love them and I may even be lucky enough to see them again in the not too distant future.

Enjoy their final pictures here with me

Brinn’s beagle puppies turn 7 weeks old

Brinn’s little “Friday the 13th” boys are thriving and loving their time playing with their bigger friends in the yard. They are both so confident and sweet. They are definitely learning not to bite – but they will get it.

I can’t believe we are almost at the time where they will go to their new homes. I have two incredible families for these beautiful boys – I couldn’t be more happy <3

Enjoy the photos of this week – arent they so cute? Is there anything cuter than a beagle puppy?

Caspian the beagle pup has his final week here in Seattle

I can’t quite believe this time has come but little Caspian – now Larry, has turned 8 weeks and will be heading off on his new adventure with his new family. I am so thrilled for them but sad for me. He has truly been such an easy beagle puppy to potty train and so responsive to training. He has been sleeping well overnight in his crate like a boss.

I know his new family will keep in touch but I will surely miss him.

Enjoy Caspian/Larry’s 8 week photos

Wonderful Coos Bay Oregon

I had heard rumors that the show in Coos Bay Oregon was a fun one – a small show that finished early in the afternoon leaving plenty of time for socializing and enjoying life.

I travelled there with Malia and her dogs Savannah and Gracie. I took Basil, Nick, Aurora and Elphaba.

It was a fun couple of days – we didn’t think to take many photos as per usual. I didn’t take my trailer “Betty” but we took Malia’s pop up tent and roughed it 🙂 It was actually very fun.

Savannah won breed in 13s each day, and Nick won breed in 15s each day. Elphaba won “winners b*tch” for another 6 points towards her CH title.

Nick won an OH Hound Group 3 on Friday, and OH Group 1 / OH BIS on Saturday (no OH offered on Sunday). Thank you to the judges Mr Charles Olvis, Mrs Donelle Richards, Mr Del Richards, Ms Elizabeth Muthard for finding the Kazuri dogs this weekend.

Brinn and Louie’s beagle puppies are 4 weeks old.

Brinn’s little beagle puppies are growing and eating 3 meals a day. Brinn only visits them at meal times – really she wants to steal their food and enjoy their left overs 🙂 haha. who can blame her? They are using the potty box a little bit – this is an area of opportunity for them – LOL.

The boys personalities are starting to emerge – Freddy is a little more confident at this stage, and Jason is a snuggler. Both are around the same size so I am keen to see where they end up size wise.

Enjoy their latest photos – that they were more interested in going off to play, than being part of the photo shoot – and who could blame them?
