Paige took to being a mommy so well – her poor inverted nipples made latching hard work, but once we got them on, they nursed vigorously. They are now 1 week old and approaching doubling their birth weight so that makes me very happy.
The two girls are so much bigger than the boy, but he holds his own so we are not concerned about him much.
Since Murphy’s AKC name is “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” we decided to name them after Irish landmarks/places.
Tori is doing a wonderful job allowing the babies to grow up. When we take her outside with them for 10-15 mins at a time, she shows them how to play and gives them confidence. She is dancing away more and more as they try to nurse, and so I am glad the puppies are starting to eat better on their own now.
The weather continues to be beautiful in the PNW, allowing good time for playing outdoors each day.
Enjoy the photos of Tori’s cavalier king charles puppies as they are now 5 weeks old.

If you are interested in your own Kazuri Beagle or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel pup?
Nova’s babies are 8 weeks and will start to head to their new homes next week. I can’t even believe how fast this time has gone and how much I love these precious little gifts. Thank you again to Nova’s dad Ken for partnering with me to allow me to show Nova, health test her and have a litter.
I am just making my final decisions on who stays here at Kazuri and who goes to their new home in the up coming days. Who are your favorites?
Enjoy the final pictures of the babies all together as they play in our yard as they were not interested in individual photos at all this week 🙂 I can’t blame them – the world is a wonderfully interesting place and it’s their job to discover it all.
Tori is doing a wonderful job with her babies and they are growing steadily. She must have golden milk as the babies are not super interested in mushy food – unless its from the bowl that mama is eating from. Silly babies.
They are walking around, growling and starting to clumsily play with one another. it’s very cute.
Enjoy the photos I took of them outside today – they werent quite sure what to make of it
I know they will just gain confidence more and more in the coming weeks
Tori’s babies have their eyes open and are up on their feet – wobbly but making their way around the pen to find their mom wherever she may be. They are making little squeaks and growls – this is the fun stage where they sound like little chipmonks.
We will be starting solids in a few days – let the new sensations begin 🙂
At any given dog show, a champion can get a maximum of 5 GCH points (or less if they beat less dogs) towards their GCH levels.
Nick is the first beagle, of either variety, to achieve this. He had to get 1600 points to get this. It proves his worth as he is still consistently winning breed and group/owner handler group placements even with amateur me at the end of his leash.
Gosh I feel so blessed to be the breeder/owner and handler of this amazing boy.
NICK – MBIS MBISS GCHP2 Kazuri’s All I Want For Christmas CGCU TKN ATT BCAT FDC
Bred and owned by Sarah Sweetman, Michael & Karen Kurtzner.
The 4 days after the INBC specialty shows are 4 days of all breeds. I did not mention in my last post that we also had a NOHS regional which is just for NOHS champion dogs – the points are double what they normally are giving the winners a lovely boost.
If you want to know who the dogs are, please refer back to my last post for AKC names/breeder/owners 🙂
NOHS regional – Nick won the 15 inch variety under judge Mrs Rhonda Silveira and went onto a Hound group 2 under Ms. Nancy S Amburgey.
Friday: Under Judge Mrs. Paula Nykiel – In 13s Murphy went BOS and Lyric went select B. In 15s Nick won BOV/OH and Miles won WD/BOW for his first major. Bro went Select for his first GCH ch defeat and major as a move up. Nick went on to win OHG4 under judge Ms. Christine Erickson
Saturday: Under judge Ms. Christine Erickson. In 13s Murphy went BOV and Savannah went select B. Alice won WB to finish her CH! Murpy went on to Group 3 under Mrs. Linn Klingel Brown. In 15s Nick won BOV/OH to finish his DOUBLE PLATINUM and Miles won WD for his second major. Bro went Select for his second GCH ch defeat and major as a move up. Nick went on to win OHGroup1 under judge Mrs. Paula Nykiel and OHBIS under judge Ms. Robin A. Hug
Sunday: Under judge Jan K Schreiber. In 13s Murphy went BOS and Savannah went select B. Truly went WB for her first points and first major. In 15s Nick won BOV/OH and Miles won WD/BOW for his third major. Nick went on to win OHG2 under judge Ms. Annella Cooper
Sunday: Under judge Sid Marx. In 13s Murphy went BOV and onto a Hound group 4 under Sid Marx. Lyric went BOS/OH and Savannah went Select to finish her Silver GCH! In 15s Nick went select. Miles went WD and Hudson went RWD.
So many goals were achieved this weekend – Nick achieved his double platinum making him the first and only beagle to achieve that. Savannah got her Silver GCH. Bro and Alice (littermates) both finished. My friend Sarah Yates with her dog Tommie got their BGCH and went onto a OH BIS on the final day. My friend Pia got a OH Hound group 3 the day Nick got his OH group 1 so we were in the lineup together. My friend Heidi finished her girl Sage’s CH title. My friend Jim with his veteran girl Mashaba went BOSS to Nick’s BISS – Mashaba is the highest pointed 13 inch and so Nick and Mashaba together made quite the pair.
A day that beagles place or win is a good day for the breed. SO so much to celebrate this weekend <3
Nova’s lovely 7 are growing well and getting up to lots of mischief. They are enjoying the nicer weather now that Seattle has brought out the sun. I am really enjoying watching the movement on these puppies – it seems very true – I am going to try and narrow down my selections for now – it’s so hard 😛 LOL.
Enjoy their photos from this week on my favorite blue chair.
The weather matches the joy of raising these busy little puppies. We moved them upstairs to the main room, and they were “let us out and explore” so we did. The confidence on these puppies is outstanding.
They now regularly play outside thanks to the weather being so nice right now – they are loving exploring and beating each other up.
Enjoy their 5 week photos taken today

Tori is doing a wonderful job raising her babies. With 6 hungry babies, we are working hard to keep her eating, but without giving her a stomach upset. it’s a fine balance.
Since the babies were mostly born on Cinco De Mayo, I have gone with that very obvious theme
