They are 8 weeks old – how did that happen?? Oh my gosh – they have the best personalities – not afraid of anything and ready for their new lives to begin.
They have been staying with co-breeder Malia for a couple of weeks and so I was lucky enough to pick them up and take some photos by her beautiful maple tree in the evening light. Enjoy their final photos
What a beautiful start to the Summer we are having indeed. Ivy’s babies are enjoying being outside with the pack and exploring more of the yard. We don’t leave them out there unsupervised of course, but it’s wonderful to have the space for them to run and play safely.
Daisy’s sweet little beagle baby is thriving – as a solo pup he gets all of the milk and today he is over a 1lb meaning he has put on almost 6 oz since Friday. <3 I am not complaining one little bit – and neither is he – LOL>
Here are his first official photos – his name was chosen by Daisy’s “girl” and he is called Caspian from the Narnia series.
Sorry we missed a week of photos – it’s been a little busy around here – good busy, but busy none the less 🙂
Ivy has been a super mommy to her 7 babies and now that she is weaned, has gone home to her forever home with her dog mom Echo and her human family. We already miss her so much, but we know they missed her too.
The babies are doing great – the weather here in the PNW has been warm allowing for lots of outdoor playtime and exploration. They are getting more confident and we just love their little emerging personalities.
Enjoy their photos – taken outside. They didn’t really want to pose today – more wanted to head off on an adventure but I managed photos of them all.
Trillium will be available to a local Seattle area home, where they would be willing to keep him in tact for an extra year or so (till 4), and allow me to show him to his CH title. I offer a “thank you” discount for this arrangement/partnership. If you want to learn more about what that entails, or get references from a family who has done this, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Girl 1: “Blossom” (Has a “c” shape on her butt
Girl 2: “Iris” (Has a line between her shoulder blades)
Girl 3: “Tulip” (Has a thin line across her hips)
Girl 4: “Primrose” (No white marks on back or hips)
Boy 1: “Crocus” (Has an “L” shape on his neck)
Boy 2: “Trillium” (Has Thicker collar with a black dot in center)
We were a little disappointed that Daisy’s X-ray showed just 1 puppy. We decided that instead of jumping straight to a C section, we would let her try and have it naturally and if there was signs of problems we would take her in for surgery.
She had a restless night on Thursday and Friday morning, despite eating a full breakfast, it looked like labor was in full force. I watched her on the camera so I wouldn’t disturb her, and around 9:15am she started to contract more deeply.
I sat with her and she would push a little and then sleep a little. Around 10:30, with no real progression happening I contacted my vet who said we should come in at 12:30 for a c section.
My husband joined me just in case something happened while we were driving. We sat in the car waiting for the clinic to be ready for us. Around 1pm, we were surprised by a head appearing and we were rushed into a clean clinic room where Daisy delivered her baby safe and sound. All 10.9oz of him. A healthy baby boy strong and bright.
We then took Daisy home, and she has settled in beautifully with her little one. She was a wonderful momma last time and it looks like we will be lucky enough again this time.
New win pictures for MBISS GCHS Kazuri N Van-Mar Trouble in Texas!
• Best of Opposite in Specialty Show and 15 inch Best of Variety under judge Michael Faulkner
• Best of Variety and Hound Group 4 under judge Dr. Donald Sturz
Our last BOV win photo to come… thanks to all the judges for finding our boy! I couldn’t be prouder as both a breeder, owner and most importantly as a friend of Chelsea and how much of a team she and Tex are.
The Spokane Kennel Club and Cour D’Alene Kennel Club used to have a split weekend in 2 locations – this year they combined their show into a cluster in one location and that was nice to have everything all in one spot.
This will be long – sorry not sorry – we took a lot of dogs away as a group and I am so proud of how they all did and of my friends and their dogs too.
Community over competition is my motto. Anyone who knows me, knows I get as excited about other peoples wins as I do about my own – especially when it’s someone I have helped to mentor and have a start in their own breeding program. I am so so proud of Dolly and Malia and how far they have come already in such a short number of years
Dolly from Joyful Noise and I co-own Willow (CH Kazuri’s Cover Me In Sunshine). We decided in 2024 to breed her to Murphy (BIS BISS GCHS Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Alright). We were blessed with 3 puppies – 2 girls and a boy. As they grew it was obvious that they all were small (at 8 months they are all well under 13 inches) and they all were show quality.
Lyric (CH Joyful Noise N Kazuri’s Sound of Sunshine) is owned by Dolly and her daughter Ruthie Tesky. At the INBC specialty show on Friday, she won WB/BOS over multiple specials for a 5 point major. She won WB again on Saturday finishing her Championship in 3 weekends and at 7 months old with both a Hound group and owner handled group placements. She marks Dolly’s 4th Bred by Champion in 4 years of being in the breed – I couldn’t be prouder.
Beacon (Kazuri N Joyful Noise Sunshine Of Your Love) owned by Sarah Sweetman & Dolly Stearns and loved by Lesley Rytel, went BOV at the INBC specialty, over multiple specials for a 5 point major!! He won Best puppy in 13s, Best Bred by 13s. He then went WD/BOW each day of the Memorial day cluster for more majors each day.
Vada who is also known as Potato (Kazuri N Joyful Noise Sunshine on a Cloudy Day) is owned by Kayla Bonnin and Sarah Sweetman. She was mistakenly entered as a 15, not a 13, but held her own and received the “Bred By Exhibitor” in 15s and then on to “Bred By Exhibitor” in Show, over both of her siblings. I feel terrible that I didn’t get any proper photos of her with her ribbons but i posted a picture of her pretty handpainted box and ribbons.
We then have Lucy Grey – Lucy Gray (GCH CH Wilderness Can’T Take My Sass BCAT) who is co-owned by myself (Sarah Sweetman) and Malia Throop
Lucy Grey was with the Best Junior Handler In specialty show, 1st in sweeps class, select bitch on Friday and Monday (which puts her over halfway to her bronze at 18 months old!). After being a little crazy in the ring the first couple of days (she loves showing maybe a little too much), she went back to back to back OH group placements for her first three times EVER In groups with an OHG4/OHG4/OHG2 with Malia!!
Malia and I loved seeing Lucy’s breeders and the owners of her two siblings Finnick and Katness this weekend also – thank you Cheyenne and Diana for taking a chance on us and saying yes to us bringing Lu Lu home a year ago – what a fun ride it has been.
Malibu (Kazuri’s Blue Skies Over Malibu) also got his final points and went home as a new champion with a WD/BOW win under judge Ms Rhonda Silveira!! He marks Malia’s 4th champion in 2 years of showing dogs in AKC which is pretty cool.
This little boogie is the first CH for both of his parents CH Meadow Crest Blue My Mind and Kazuri’s Everything I ever Wanted. He was bred by Sarah Sweetman, and is co-owned and loved by Malia. We have some high hopes for this sweet blue berry boy.
Not to be missed out – Pickles and Mac are both from Murphy (BIS BISS GCHS Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Alright) and Mishka (CH Pun Kotzky Ma Belle Michelle).
Mac received WD at the INBC specialty for a 5 point major under judge Mr Dana Cline. He won WD/BOW under judge Mr Sid Marx for a second 5 point major. He just needs a couple of singles to complete his CH title.
Pickles won WB under judge Mr Sid Marx for a 5 point major completing (AKC pending) her AKC championship. I was so grateful to Ruthie for showing her all weekend so I had one less dog to wrangle.
Gracie Jo (Goose) who is not technically a Kazuri dog, but is the daughter of two Kazuri dogs so is an honorary member of the family -GCHB CH Zamaradi’s Beautiful Mistake FDC FCAT CGC TKN ATT -had a great win at the INBC where she was Select Bitch and BISSOH!!
We are so thankful to judges Mr Dana Cline, Mr Sid Marx, Mr Robert E Hutton, Mrs Rhonda Silvera, Dr Tracy Powell, Mr Eric Liebes for finding our dogs this weekend – we couldn’t be more thankful to you all for recognizing our dogs in such quality competition.
They are healthy and strong and this week we took them outside into our safe puppy area for a little time to explore. They were not quite sure at first but quickly realized that there were so many things to smells and see.
They are using the potty box about 50% of the time (honesty moment :P) and eating 3 meals a day. Mama Cleo loves her babies and now sees them as playmates rather than her babies and so she will get to back to her forever home where she is pampered and loved (and even has an instagram account @Cleo_thebeagle_ig)
Enjoy the photos of them from this week. There will not be any official photos for the next few weeks as they are going on a road trip on Wednesday to Spokane where they will live for a couple of weeks with co-breeder Malia so she can enjoy raising a litter for a little bit.
Boy 1: “Frog”
Boy 2: “Toad”
Boy 3: Shoulder collar with a notch taken out – “Bass”
Malia, Dolly, Ruthie and I went up to the Lynden Dog shows for the Mt Baker/Bell Vernon cluster. It was a blustery and cold weekend and we huddled in my trailer a lot. We helped out at fastcat, and froze a little but also had a blast running record numbers of dogs each day in between our ring times.
We took these dogs:
Nick – MBIS MBISS GCHP Kazuri’s All I Want for Christmas – bred and owned by Sarah Sweetman, Mike and Karen Kurztner
Savannah – GCHB Kazuri’s Everything’s Gonna Be Peachy – Bred by Sarah Sweetman, Mike and Karen Kurtzner, and owned by Malia Throop & Sarah Sweetman
Lyric – Joyful Noise N Kazuri’s Sound of Sunshine – bred by Sarah Sweetman & Dolly Stearns and owned by Dolly Stearns and Ruthie Tesky
Beacon – Kazuri N Joyful Noise Sunshine Of Your Love – bred and owned by Sarah Sweetman & Dolly Stearns
Chase – Kazuri’s Chasin’ The Dream – bred by Sarah Sweetman, Mike and Karen Kurztner and owned by Sarah Sweetman & The Neissen family
Lucy – GCH Wilderness You Can’t Take My Sass – bred by Cheyenne Wohlschlegel & Diana Cazier, owned by Malia Throop & Sarah Sweetman. She only showed the last day as we accidently entered her as a non champion and we didnt want to steal points from anyone else
~~~~ we took a few dogs 🙂 haha ~~~
Thank you to judges Mrs. Rosalind Kramer, Mrs Judith A Brown, Mrs. Pamela B Peat, Mr David J Peat and Mrs. Kathleen J Brock for these wins
Ivy is doing an amazing job with her babies. They showed some interest in her breakfast and so we have tried them on mush and they LOVED it – we will be starting 2 meals a day moving up to 3 by the end of the week.
They are starting to play fight and growl, and move around their little puppy area with some shaky confidence. We play them sounds and movies like “terminator” and “king kong” to start the noise desensitization
I am thrilled with these sweet and beautiful babies and can’t wait to see them grow up. Enjoy their 3 week old beagle puppy pictures.
