Paris’s puppies are 1 week today

It has been quite a week. we were absolutely gutted on Wednesday night when we lost our littlest guy 🙁 But thankfully the other six are strong and healthy and growing like little flowers.

We decided that their blog names should follow “Hamilton” – it is one of our favorite plays and since they were born on “President’s day” it seemed only fitting.

So, introducing: Our 3 girls <3

Angelica

Eliza

Peggy

And the boys <3

Hamilton (Hammy)

George

Aaron

I dont know if any of these puppies are available at this stage. Offers will be made as soon as I know – probably closer to 7-8 weeks. Thank you for understanding.

Kiss and Denny’s Puppies arrived

With every birth I learn something new. Usually I start taking the dam’s temperature about 4/5 days before she is due to watch for a significant drop which tells me she is 24hours from starting labor. This happened on Thursday morning (the 13th Feb). I got up every 2 hours through the night to check on her for 4 nights – she started labor on Sunday night around 11:30, and puppies started arriving around 10am on Monday morning. Someone once told me “they don’t read the rulebook” – and that was certainly true for this. But I am glad she was able to have them safe and sound at home rather than go in for the planned C-section which is what we would have done Monday afternoon.

Baby #1 was born at 9:58 – a boy – 5.1oz.

Baby #2 was a girl, born at 11:12 – 6.3oz.

Baby #3 was a boy born at 12:03 and he was 6.5oz.

Baby #4 was another boy born at 12:49 and 5.7oz.

Baby #5 was 6.6oz and was a girl born at 2:23.

Baby #6 was born at 3.52 – another girl 6.7oz.

Our final baby was a boy born at 4:14 weighing 7.6oz.

Mom and babies are all vigorous and doing well. I am not sure who is available at this stage and will start contacting families as soon as I do 🙂 Thank you.

EDIT: On Wednesday night, one of the little boys started to crash and we couldn’t save him and he gained his angel wings. This is the heartbreaking side of breeding. One that cant be avoided, but death is part of life. He was loved and treasured and cuddled right till the end. <3

Penny and Flame’s Puppy’s Visit

Penny and Flame’s puppies came to visit me in the studio for some final pictures before they go to their new homes. A couple of them have already left, so really it’s just the puppies who are left. <3

They are just the sweetest bunch – we are so thrilled how they have turned out – pretty, healthy and with great temperaments.

Brianna and Sirius – a dream team!

Brianna (my daughter) decided to take Sirius in the Jrs ring this weekend at the Cavaliers of Puget Sound (COPS) dog shows at Puyallup Kennel Club. She also took him into the Breed ring. Sirius responds so well to her – he watches her intently and just loves her.

To our amazement and thrill, Sirius and Brianna won the first (and only) Award of Merit under esteemed breeder judge Mrs. Cindy Huggins! <3 What a win indeed! <3

I really hope they continue – they could go so far together.

Paris gets a clear MRI Scan

We are thrilled to announce that Paris got a clear MRI Scan this weekend.

It was wonderful news for our breeding program and all of her puppies.

SM/CM are polygenic – this means that the genes can be hidden through multiple generations and pop up unexpectedly. However, we can use this tool as information moving forward in our breeding program and hopefully make the best decisions for healthy pups in the future.

Lockestar Puppies come to visit

While Alisha and Susan were away getting Paris MRI scanned, we were on puppy duty for Flame and Penny and their puppies. Of course, I had to take them outside for some quick photos. They are 6.5 weeks old and so sweet.

I think a couple of them are still available and so if you are interested in one, please contact Alisha through: https://anyeazi.wixsite.com/lockestarcavaliers

Paris and James’s puppies are 5 weeks

With Paris’ puppies staying here, of course I couldn’t resist but to take photos of them. They have grown so much since I last saw them and they are just the sweetest. I have loved getting daily snuggles with them, along with Arrow’s 4. I dont know how I will ever be able to say goodbye again next weekend.

Enjoy the lastest pictures of them at 5.5 weeks 🙂

Please note that we are a small, family hobby cavalier king Charles spaniel breeder here in Woodinville which is just north of Seattle, Washington. While these puppies might already be sold, we are taking names for future puppies we have planned. We also have a network of other breeders that we are connected to, so if we dont have a puppy for you, we would be happy to connect you to someone else who might have a perfect furry companion for you.

Truman gets his cGC award and a 3rd placement

We are so proud of our little Truman – today at the Nationals, placed 3rd in a huge competitive 6 to 9mo puppy class at the 25th anniversary ACKCSC Nationals! He is sired by Mia Lawson‘s boy GCH Orchard Hill True Enough – “Blake” and out of my girl LockeStar Love Struck, CGC – “Arrow”.

He then went on to get his Good Canine Citizen Award – so he now gets to put CGC behind his name 🙂 Good boy Tru for proving you can be the good boy we already knew you to be.

Beagle puppies are 4 days old

The beagle puppies are thriving under Maddy’s tender loving care.  Her milk came in fast and not one lost any weight.

They all lined up tonight at the edge of the crate and I couldn’t resist taking a couple of photos.

<3 how can you not be in love??
